The Viewer is a general purpose application, designed for both professional and amateurs chess players. By using the viewer you can perform different tasks, alone or with a group of friends, for instance studying games, attending online courses, online private lessons, play chess remotely with distant opponents, as a substitute for postal chess, reading e-books and electronic magazines, accesing online databases and checking games with the aid of powerful calculation engines. Some of those activities require and Internet connection, some others not.
As it's name suggests, the Viewer is used for displaying Chess games, although it is much more appropiate to say that it's good to work with Chess contents.
The term working is wider than just displaying, in the sense of which, besides showing the contents, the viewer allows to interact with those contents, either manually or by tools provided in the application. The main tools are the calculation engines, the opening Books, the games database and the endgame tables. Besides, the Viewer allows to create new contents.
The Viewer works with the following types of content:
Games.
Lessons, also called packages or packs.
Complete courses.
Magazines.
Peer to peer connections.
Play Chess online.
Play Chess by correspondence.
The application can be freely download as a zip compressed file. Once downloaded, simply execute the setup.exe file contained in the zip file.
