The Viewer is available in two versions: The standard version and the 3D version. Both versions are identical, the only difference being that, the 3D version can show views from the board in three dimensions, as well as those in two dimensions shown in the standard version, similar to the diagrams published in books and magazines.
To install either version, it is necessary to download the appropriate file, uncompress it and run the program setup.exe that will emerge from the decompression. It is not possible to install both versions simultaneously on the same PC. Once you install one version and later wish to install the other, you have to uninstall first the previous version through the Control Panel option "Add or Remove programs."
This application requires that the Microsoft NET Framework 2.0 be previously installed in your computer. This is a free extension of the operating system that might already be installed on your PC. Several versions exists of this software, currently from the 1.0 to the 3.5, but the Viewer needs exactly the 2.0 version. Even if your computer has installed a later version, the 2.0 goes on being essential (this is a requirement imposed by Microsoft.) During the installation process, the installer will verify the
existence of this software in your PC and in case it does not find it, it will offer the possibility to download it from the Microsoft server. In the same PC all versions of the Microsoft NET Framework can happily coexist without interference among them, therefore, it's safe to download and install the 2.0 version if you don't already have it. Once downloaded and installed the Microsoft NET Framework 2.0, the Viewer installation will continue or, if necessary, you can execute again the septup.exe file, since on the next execution it will detect that version 2.0 has been installed.
Important: you cannot install two versions of the NET Framework in different languages in the same computer. If you try to install another version in a different language you will receive the following error: "The installation program cannot install the Microsoft .NET Framework because there is already other version installed of the product." If the platform language is not in English or if you wish to see .NET Framework resources in a different language, you must download the appropriate
version of the package of the.NET Framework language.
System requirements:
Compatible Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 ; Windows 98; Windows 98 Second Edition; Windows ME; WindowsServer 2003; Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows Vista.
Required software:
Windows Installer 3.0 (except for Windows 98/ME, that requires Windows Installer 2.0 or a later version.). Windows Installer 3.1 or later is recommended.
IE 5.01 or later: in all instalations of the .NET Framework you should have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later.
Disk space required: 280 MB (x86), 610 MB (64 bits.)
If you have problems installing the application:
One of the most likely causes may be that you are missing the installation of the Microsoft .NET Framework, version 2.0. A safe alternative is to install this software before trying to install the Viewer. Press here to go to the download web page at the Microsoft site.
There is a link in that page to the Windows Installer that is necessary prior to the installation of the Microsoft .NET Framework. If the Microsoft .NET Framework installation gives problems, try to install this component (press here to
go to the download page of Windows Installer) and then try to install again the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Another issue, relatively frequent, is that the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Local Settings\Apps (wherre xxxx is the name of the PC user) has been corrupted. In this case it is possible to change the name Apps, or move this folder Apps to another place in the PC (for later recovery if necessary) Then you can try to install the Viewer again.
Important note: We do not know if renaming the Apps folder causes any unwanted effect on your PC. We have done it in two computers without observing any problems and both times we were able to install the Viewer correctly afterwards. Even so, we do not assume any responsibility related to this solution.

3D Versions
Before installing this 3 D version it is necessary to have installed the appropiate version of DirectX of Microsoft. In the same PC several versions of DirectX can be safely installed without any side effect or chances of one interfering with the others. However, you need to have the exact version required by your operating system. To install that precise DirectX version, it's necessary to download the file instaladx.zip, uncompress it and
run the program DXSETUP.exe that will emerge from the decompression (more details here.)
Once installed DirectX and not before, you can proceed to the Viewer installation.
