This button creates a new window, that initially superposes the normal window but you can change the location and size later. This new window shows the board in three dimensions with a photo realistic quality. If you click with the left button of the mouse on any point of this window and then drag the mouse, without
releasing the button, the board turns on one axis or another, horizontally or vertically. If you click with the right button and then drag the mouse downwards, the board gets closer to us.
The 3D presentation can be configured by means of the two buttons present on the 3D window, the first allows to define the characteristic of lighting and the second the color and brightness of the pieces. Besides, in the configuration data to which you can have access by the button () "Configure" toolbar options,"
three more options relating to the 3D environment can be adjusted:
Textures++. When you activate this option, the board presentation improves, although it does not affect the pieces. In some computers it might be requiered to deactivate this option.
Quality. This option can take a value from 0 to 3. The maximum presentation quality that you can get is with the value 3 but it requires a modern computer with enough RAM and a modern graphic card. The value 2 produces an image very similar to in quality to the one obtained with the value 3 but not demanding as many resources from the PC. The option
1 produces acceptable images too, but the option 0 produces an obvious quality loss. When you select an option from 0 to 2, the switch from 2D to 3D is not immediate because the process of piece reduction requires a lot of calculations.
HWD. If the graphic card of the PC has 3D calculation capabilities built-in and you select the value "Yes", it's very likely that the quality and performance improve substantially. However, for values 0 and 1 it might be best to select "No". In any case you can try out both possibilities to evaluate for yourself. If
the card does not have any 3D rendering capabilities and you select the value "Yes," the application will change it to "No" automatically when you switch to 3d mode.
